A native of the Cane River Community in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana, Dr. Carla Roque Allen grew up in a devout, loving Catholic family with one brother and one sister. She graduated from The University of Louisiana at Monroe with a Doctorate in Pharmacy in 2004 and completed a one-year Post Graduate Pharmacy Practice Residency in 2005. She is a Clinical Pharmacy Practitioner specializing in mental health, diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia management. Dr. Carla is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, where she has served as Chaplain of her local chapter and is a part of the Leadership and Meditation Committees. She also serves as Pageant Director for the Cane River Creole Heritage Pageant. Dr. Carla is a driven, hard-working individual with a down-to-earth personality.

In 2020, she realized that while she had a giant smile on her face, a successful career, was happily married to her loving husband and Pastor Lloyd Allen III, and was mom to two handsome boys, Caleb & Caden, she was unfulfilled and lacked vitality from within. It became clear that she had hindrances preventing her from living an abundant life. Dr. Carla has chosen her book Freedom to Live as the catalyst that allows the masses to experience her journey to freedom in hopes of inspiring, encouraging, and helping others break loose from the bondage in their lives. She enjoys serving her community and church, spending time with family, bowling, eating tasty Creole dishes, shopping, and modeling. Dr. Carla Roque Allen continues to evolve into a courageous, purpose-filled woman, knowing that who she is and what she has accomplished is a testament to God.
